In 2000 the institute participated in the organization of the 31st International Congress of the World Society for the History of Veterinary Medicine at VETUNI, in 2009 it became the guarantor of the 9th International Symposium on the History of Medicine, Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine at VETUNI, also significantly participated in the celebrations 90th and 100th anniversary of the founding of VETUNI.
The activities of those interested in the history of veterinary medicine and pharmacy found an institutional background in the Club of History of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy, which was established at the VETUNI by a decision of the Rector in 2007.
The club has more than 50 members and invites a wider range of people interested in the historical issues of veterinary medicine and pharmacy to the events they organize.
Regular meetings of the club are held every Wednesday in the Cabinet of the History of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy of the Institute of the History of Veterinary Medicine VETUNI.
Every year, the Institute of History of Veterinary Medicine ensures the preparation and implementation of the so-called "golden diplomas" of the Veterinary University of Brno. Graduates working in distant parts of the world also come to the school at the graduation ceremony 50 years after the end of veterinary studies. This unique and significant activity is extremely favorably received and evaluated by the participants as well as by the professional and social public.
